The development of EGLO was and remains a rapid one: from the number of employees to sales growth to production sites and sales companies around the globe. The growth rates are far above those of the market. In order to make sure that EGLO will continue to grow healthily in the future, business development is driven with a high degree of sustainability. We preserve what has been tried and tested and leave space to let our principles grow along with us.
Preserving and developing what has proven its worth
Our headcount has nearly doubled in 10 years (from 2007 to 2017). The number of companies of the EGLO Sales Group grew five-fold in 20 years (1997 to 2017).
The first secret of success is the fact that EGLO continues to be a family-owned company and is therefore able to act independently. The control of development, production and logistics was another factor of success from the beginning. We learn every day and invest in our customers, our partners, our employees, our products, and our service. Around the world.
Global & local
About 70 EGLO companies take care of sales, service and marketing in more than 50 countries around the world. In spite of the progressing internationalization and globalization, we are, and will remain, a family-owned company with Tyrolean roots.
As networking increases and different regional needs grow "Think global – act local" turns into "Ask local – act global". Customers belong to a regional culture and have different needs, even if they act and buy globally. Connecting these two worlds and harmonizing them is one of our most important efforts.
Light that inspires the masses
Almost every two hours, a new product is developed at EGLO. That's an average of almost four new products per working day.
In the last year alone, more than 900 new products were put on the market. The current product range comprises more than 4,000 articles. Every day, we produce 80,000 lights that are sold worldwide.
Even we find these figures impressive every time we see them. How we see people and light is much more important. Fine senses, an open ear and far-sightedness are needed to understand what customers want to see and experience in their own living spaces in future. Trendscouts must indicate a direction. We continually observe lighting, residential and living developments, take up creative impulses from various areas and examine streams for their trend potential.
Strong together
EGLO's rapid growth was and remains a challenge for our organization. Our regional-global understanding and the fact that EGLO is still family owned, and will remain so, will help us master this challenge. We consider size to be a strength only if things work on a small scale as well. For this reason, proximity is indispensable for us: We need to be close to our customers, our partners and our employees. Only in perfectly organized and well-linked units can we manage and develop 4,700 employees around the world.
Another interesting aspect of our organization philosophy refers to consistent support of our partners. We continually wonder about our employees, not just the consumer: "What should and what can we offer? Where is our expertise needed? What do our employees expect and what are our own demands?" We want to understand and find a shared path to success. This way, partnerships are created that will be preserved for decades. This culture is not only part of our organization, but our personal statement to everyone who works with us.
Logistics play a decisive role in our organization. All the effort would be in vain if the goods weren't in the right place, at the right time, and in the right amount. This is why we continually invest in optimizing our production and supply chain. We perfect processes, build new warehouses and fine-tune tiny details that make a big difference. Our 1-stop logistics are only one result of this, but they may be the most central one.
