Our motion sensor lights will easily illuminate your garden and outdoor area. It does not matter whether the light is placed in the entrance, garden or your terrace, you can use the motion sensors however you need them. It may be useful to know that installing outdoor lighting with motion sensors may seem difficult at first, but we can help you make the best choice and get the result you want.
Comfort and security
Outdoor lights with sensors offer more security and peace of mind when leaving and coming home.
Save energy
Combine your LED outdoor lighting with a motion sensor and save even more energy. This is because your light will only turn on when it detects movement. It is a fantastic way to brighten up your garden or exterior area in the dark.
Security
You can easily deter burglars by using motion sensors around your house. As soon as an uninvited guest takes a step on your terrace, the light switches on.
Connection of motion sensors
We offer a wide range of outdoor lighting which have integrated motion sensors. But what happens if you find your dream light by EGLO and it does not have a sensor? Simply select a motion sensor, find the right place and mount as described.
The motion sensor works like an automatic switch, so therefore you put this component in the circuit instead of the switch. This is the same when you add a sensor to existing outdoor installations.
What do I have to consider when selecting and installing exterior lighting?
You have already decided to use a motion sensor to switch on your outdoor lights. We will guide you on exactly what is important when installing and selecting models.
I. Safety first
As with all lights or electrical devices for outdoor use, you must consider what degree of protection is safety appropriate. All of our motion sensors have IP44 protection class which means they are splash-proof.
II. Mounting height
A good mounting height is at about two meters, so that the sensor has an overview of everything. Make sure that the detection area can be picked up by the motion sensor undisturbed. Remove plants and other obstructions to avoid blind spots.
III. Mounting type
If you want to record the passage to the garage, a sensor with a 180 degree detection angle is ideal. Attach it to the wall or corner. If you want to illuminate your terrace, balcony or driveway with a motion sensor, then use a wide detection angle of 360 degrees. These are usually mounted on the ceiling or the wall. If the sensor has been installed correctly, it will cover a maximum of 12 meters which is enough for versatile use outdoors.
IV. Switching capacity
You should consider the switching capacity of the device, so you can switch one or more outdoor lights without any issues.
The information you should look for on the packaging is the switching capacity. It provides information about which and how many lamps you can switch at the same time.
What else you should consider before your lighting installation ...
We recommend that you consult a qualified specialist to install your exterior lighting. Your safety is our priority. Always remember to switch off the fuse.
